Make Firefox Search an Alternate Search Engine

When I enter something in the Address Bar (The place where you usually enter www.<your webpage here>.com and click the go button beside it) without the www. and .com and it doesn't go to a webpage, instead it searches. I want to make it search Dogpile instead of Google. Can I do this? If so, then how?

Idk if I'm answering this right, but here goes. Go to Tools:Options:Main:Home page. Now you should be able to change your home page completely, even FF forums if you would like!

This has absolutely nothing to do with what he asked, but you are correct if you want to change your homepage.





I assume you are using FireFox

Type about:config Hit enter

In the filter box type keyword.url

Right click the "keyword.url" and hit "Modify"

Here is where it Gets tricky. The way Dogpile searches I don't think it will work... I tried it out and couldn't figure it out, but you may have better luck....

If TEST is what I want it to search for then what should I put into the config?

Dogpile is a goofy little bastard, look at their URL...

What you are searching for is way in the middle, and the search won't work without the stuff after it. I'm not sure if its possible

dang...at least I'm used to putting the stuff I want to search for in the search area. I kinda liked how IE7 handled the searches. If you set Dogpile Web Search Home Page as your default search, then If it had to search from the address bar, then it searched dogpile.
