I assume you're running it on the "main rig" shown in your sig and not the "second rig"?

Try reading this as well as the rest of the TweakGuide: http://www.tweakguides.com/NFSMW_7.html

Are there any resource-hogging processes running when you play nfs. Before you play, check your processes (ctrl+alt+delete - processes tab) and end any unnecessary processes that are hogging cpu and ram.

I personally endorse all opinions, especially my own.

MSI GeForce 8600 GT review | News | Custom PC

From what i read about the 8600GT here its not a great card to play it on.

Also this one with some 8600GTS's

BFG GeForce 8600 GTS OC Review | News | Custom PC

I get the feeling the 8600 series just doesnt cut it with that game.

well i try defrag and it dose it in need for speed underground 2 and when i play most wanted it uses about 65% of my cpu and about 45% of my ram and i use vista by the way my 8600gt clock runs at about the same speed as a low end gts and i can play cryrsis on high at a res of 1280x1204 with a nice 40+fps oh and when i just sit there in game i get a nice 60+fps in nfsmw
