Fujitsu Siemens Li 1705 Laptop.

Hey guys ain't been on here in a while due to seirous moving issues and working etc. but it's good to be back.

To cut to the point, I recently bought a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1705 Laptop. It comes with 1Gb RAM as standard but since it has come pre-installed with the memory-hungry Windows Vista installed, I was wondering if I could swap out my 2x512'ers and get 2Gb RAM installed? I've tried various websites looking for specs showing maximum support, even looked on Fujitsu's site, but nothing has come up. It's not that it's heavily needed, it just avoids page file swapping that can be a bit nasty to performance in Vista, so I want to limit it as much as possible.

Anyone able to shed some light on this? The laptop is powered by a 1.73Ghz Intel Celeron M, with 1Gb RAM (256Mb allocated to the IGP), and a 60Gb HDD. I also want the extra RAM so I can almost negate the disadvantage of having to allocater 256Mb to the IGP.

Thanks in Advance

Sam :)

P.S. It's good to be back!

I was wondering where you went Sam! The only thing I could find was the pdf data sheet that had this to say:

Quote:

Memory
2 SO-DIMM memory slots (no memory on board)
512MB DDR2 533/667MHz

1GB DDR2 667MHz

EDIT: According to crucial's website, the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Li 1705 can support up to 2GB.

I found that on my searches as well. I just ran a memory check on crucial and it seems that 2Gb of PC2-5300 RAM is compatible with my laptop.

That'll be coming out of next week's paycheck I think. Thanks anyway Kwould.
