Viper 770 problems with soldier of fortune
 

Can someone help? I have a viper770 agp video card and the game soldier of fortune won't run..locks up and have to re-boot. I had a K6 amd 333 but just last night installed a new gigabyte GA-7ZX K7 800-tbird processor and the darn thing won't work still! I reinstalled all the drivers from the viper disk. System shows no conflicts...Desperate..When we get together to network everyone always plays sof and I have to sit and play solitare. bummer...

I had an Ultra 770 and it ran really hot..If I boosted to card to get the fps I wanted,it wld allways crash..I had to keep a 20" box fan on it with my case off to keep it cool:P
Try doing the simple adjustments on the card first..If that doesnt work then take the drastic measures http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif

That's probably your problem right there. Any drivers on the install CD are WAYYY out of date by now.

You should be using the latest NVidia Reference driver (and NOT any of the leaked beta drivers). Get it here: http://www.nvidia.com/products.nsf/h...etonator3.html

Make sure you have the game setup to run in Standard OpenGL mode in the game's video menu.

Also, go to the game publisher's site and download and install the latest update patch for the game.
