Default Yet another problem with my computer.

My computer needs its own forum. Anyway.

With no warning my computer can not start. When i turn it on it simply comes up with a black screen with one of those flashing white horizontal bars you get in one of those hacky matrixy //exe. command / thingys. you can type nothing.

It will not start in safe mode.

Oh Father high in heaven smile down upon your son he is busy with his money games his women and his gun. Oh Jesus save me.

This is after the BIOS flash? (the screen that you see right after you turn on your computer) As in when it should be loading Windows?

Usually if you have a CRT monitor after Windows XP loads it flashes a couple of times. If this is before that then it could be a CPU fan error. I had this problem about a year ago. It had a blank screen like you said. Everything was running but no picture. I found out that my CPU was not getting enough cooling and was in danger of frying. Got a new fan and everything worked out fine. I'm not sure but it could be the CPU fan or HDD.

Two screens are shown before it fails. One with 'press del to enter setup' and one with 'press tab to key into user window'
