((I'm not sure whether this has been posted before but I would like to bring it into more light))
There are alot of issues to discuss about this upcoming title, such as the minimum and recommended requirements for play. Alot of focus has been on the graphics for this game, more so than on the actual gameplay itself which concerns me.

Below I have quoted the min and recommended specs from joystiq.com

''Minimum Requirements:

• CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
• Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
• RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
• HDD: 6GB
• Internet: 256k+
• Optical Drive: DVD
• Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements:

• CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
• Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
• RAM: 1.5Gb
• HDD: 6GB
• Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
• Optical Drive: DVD
• Software: DX10 with Windows Vista''

The above specifications aren't yet official but are believed to perhaps over-hyped according to the article.

Now there has been some controversy about whether there will be a ported console version of Crysis on the Xbox360 or PS3. I believe there will be a release on console if proven successful on the PC. Below is the article on this subject;

There is no doubt about it that alot of PC Gamers are going to have to upgrade to some respectable level, to play this game with the spectacular visuals.


My current rig is:

ASRock 775i665G Motherboard AGP
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 570J (SL82U) 3.8 GHz w/ Zalman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower
1GB DDR 3200
GeForce 6800 LE AGP

Will this be enough?

That being said, why the hell would you get a 6800 'LE'? Those aren't worth the money at all. But, yes, you do meet the minimum system requirements.

DX10 it's not even out yet, why are they saying you will need it to

They're saying that the reccomended spec is a 7900GT/X1800XT or whatever is of a similar level of graphical power when DX10 comes out (because DX10 cards will be different to modern cards that only support up to DX9). That's why it says 'or DX10 equivalent' and it's only in the reccomended spec, not the minimum spec, that it says that.

Its still to early to know the specfications of Crysis .... I say if you can play Far cry at max settings HDR+AA at a high res like 1600*1200 than you might be alright to play Crysis.
