Next year in school, i'm taking a class on computer programming, and we use Microsoft Visual Basic. Does anyone know of a good website that offers lessons, tutorials for super beginners? I think it would be nice to be a step ahead so when i start class in september i'll know what i'm doing a little bit

It may be easier, if you find going straight to VB too hard, to try learning GW or QBASIC first. These languages are the fathers of VB, and use many of the same commands and rules, but in a DOS environment. Much easier to learn the basics of before you need to worry about graphics and buttons and such.

That's only true if you're going into VB6 or older versions.

VB.NET is object oriented with a few holdover functions and datatypes. If you're looking for a jumping off procedural language, C is an excellent choice.

As an aside, an IDE makes programming much easier than a console, especially if anything graphical is needed.

lol I was going to start a thread about this. At my school we are learning VB.net.

Nick you may want to look for some books on VB as they can really help.

I am doing intro to comp science next year as well. Yes, books are good, I recommend Visual Basic for dummies and stuff like that. They help a lot.
