You can get better, but if you have a good newer Dell like the Dimension series, you have a PC that is very easily upgraded with RAM and Video Graphics. Pop that puppy into a cooler case and you are good to go!
My Dell Dimension is upgraded like this.............
Pentium 4 2.0 CPU (Still good enough for today's standard)
1024MB RAM (Upgraded from 256MB)
Creative SoundBlaster Live!
BFG FX5500 256MB PCI Video card (plays BF2 just fine)
Aspire X-DreamerII Case mod
I cannot complain at all about my Dell. I bought it 4 years ago and never had a problem except a broken CPU heat sink cradle which was fixed with "Fusor" plastic weld (I dropped the damn thing and that's all that broke). I say I got my $499.00 worth after all this time with just normal upgrades
Depends on your definition of just fine, doesn't it? Anyway I think we better leave it at that otherwise we're gonna go waaay off topic and I don't think Radical needs confusing.
Right i have ordered aGigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G - Mainboard - ATX - i865PE - Socket 478 i will get a new case if needed and here are some links what one would be the best and also i'll be getting a new video card nothing more http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=99456
You WILL need a new case. There's no 'if' on that. All 3 of those will fit although they're all crap, to be honest. And even if you do buy one of those, I'd STRONGLY reccommend changing the PSU because a crap PSU will cause more problems than it's worth, especially if you're getting a new (ie power hungry) graphics card.
So do yourself a favour, and get something that's at least got a decent PSU in it, for example one of these 3. The first one would be my choice, but they should all be good.
I know they're more expensive than the ones you chose, but buying one of the ones you posted and a better PSU would cost more. Seasonic and Antec generally both make excellent power supplies.
is there any way i can get one for cheaper not fing 60 quid and what about this one similiar to that second one you posted a link to and could i get this one it saves £10 http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...699748-5355948
60 quid is cheaper than a system that doesn't work properly. But that one does look alright, not a great PSU but at least it's Antec. What graphics card are you actually getting?
