Program crashing..

I am unsure what this program does but Norton utilities keeps telling me that it is crashing. loadwc is the name of the program, runs in the background and I see no noticeable difference once its crashed. I have no idea what this is for, any help please?

It's a file that's part of Windows. It's called "Load Web Check" and it's normal to have it running under certain circumstances... I'm running NT 4.0 here and I just checked task manager and it's running right now. I can't tell you exactly what it does. Maybe someone else can tell you.

Fair warning, I do NOT like Norton Utilites. Under Win95/98 it's not a necessary app as you already have Scandisk and Defrag built into Windows, and there's freeware defragmenters available for NT.

Meanwhile, Norton is a huge resource hog - a terrible program to have running in the background if you're a serious gamer. There also been a lot of cases where programs will crash BECAUSE Norton is running in the background.

I agree with Penguin, Norton is a hogging slut and you don't need it. I say get rid of it, it causes more problems then its really worth it. That Load Web Check, you can get rid of it by going RUN/msconfig/startup.

that might help.
