I didn't need to Overclock my 3700+, but I was curious so I did. It does give you a performance increase. But has given me problems, but that is only because I am not 100% knowledged about overclocking.

So they are not very good then??? so why can a venice 3200+ and opteron 146 overclock to match an FX 57???on stock cooling as well!!
Fair point, but do you have a 3200+ or a Opteron 146? No. Those older 939 CPUs did overclock fairly well (like the similar socket 754 CPUs), but the more recent ones (and the X2 range is about as recent as it gets) can be a problem. Now, yes, I'm sure you can find on the internet somewhere that someone has overclocked one to 3GHz or something; but that doesn't mean you can do it with your setup. Really, if you wanted to overclock you should've stayed with your P4 lol. Although they do vary, they can take a hell of a lot of abuse when overclocking.
I am overclocking because I having trouble running F.E.A.R it lags a bit. So I look at the requirements and I meet everything but the CPU so thats why I am overclocking. And I have this fairly good CPU fan (ThermalTake TR2) and i think I will ok. Right now I am not overclocking and my pc is at 23 Idle and 30 Full load.
30 Degrees Centigrade is bloody amazing under load. Very cool indeed.
You should not be getting lag with that CPU, it is one of the best. What is the rest of your systems specifications?
There is a menu in the BIOS (on the A8N SLI Motherboards, I have one too), it is 'Jumper Free Configuration', in here you can adjust your clock speed and multipliers, as well as PCI syncro's etc.

right on, I found it. Ya BIOS jumper free configuration. I put it NOS so if its my CPU it will auto Overclock. My gaming pc is 2 on my signature.( Athlon 4200 dual,Geforce6800 gt OC 522 Core 1120 Mem and i have 3 GB of ram with 2 SATA hard drives 1) 74 GB 10000 and 2) 300 GB 7200

Don't use NOS. It is just a feature that ASUS use to temporarily overclock your CPU. Switch it to Manual, and raise your Core by about 5MHz and go from there. Multiplier should be set at 11X, and turn Cool 'n Quite off.
