thats bullshit, ill never download it.
I have firefox and its got the google search thing among other search engines on it, you think they could search my computer too? I never downloaded the google desktop.

i haven't been too keen on google since they agreed to restrict internet access in china, if this is true im removing anything to do with google from my comp. they are all about money and screwing their users

That's a pretty arogaint statement. If anything, they're about innovation and providing the highest quality services to their users. They give so much and ask so little in return.

But, I certianly don't appreciate them making our computer's files visable to anyone else. It was a poor decision not to inform the user durring the install that this would be the case.

No, its not the same. Its the desktop search program that the government can use to search your files on your hard drive, not the web-based search bars like in firefox.
