| Please help me.... Hello, I've played BF42 for over a year w/ no problems w/ lag. I do realize FH is much more graphic intense than 'nilla, however, when I play, I get pretty bad lag...When I get to a hot-spot w/ a lot of action, I slow down to 10fps (noticed it really bad on the map Supercharge in the middle flag, and on the hill). This is unbearable! Just can't play like this. Example: If I go to the airstrip where the Paratrooper kits lay I'm getting 60-90fps w/ an 8 guy squad waiting for the transport to spawn. I also play DC & DCF w/ just a little lag...some, but not too bad. I'd also like to be able to play BF2-FH2 eventually, but won't do it untill things run right. I do have the min. requirements for BF2, but want it to be a little better than min. Sorry for rambling, Let's focus on FH. Also, am I correct in believing that mainly RAM helps speed up map loading times? Here are my system specs: AMD Athlon XP 2600 - 1.9Ghz NVidia GeForce Ti 4200 512MB DDR PC2700 RAM (Crucial) A7N8X-VM/400 MoBo I don't really wanna get a new MOBO though. Will adding RAM do the trick (hopefully). I have one DIMM slot left (2 total). Next question... If ram is the route, is it ok to add a 1gb stick along w/ my existing 512 stick, or should I only get another 512 stick? I've heard I should keep it all the same. Sorry for my long-winded question, I just want you to know exactly what I'm trying to achieve here w/ what I've got. Thanks in advance for your advice. |

| You should be able to play FH with such a system. I have basically the same, only twice as much RAM and a Ati 9500 instead of the GeForce. With what settings do you play FH? Did you try reducing sound-quality (for some reason this used to be a problem with BF1942 performance)? RAM will help you with map-loading times but it will also improve the FPS a bit. If you want to get rid of lag and don't want to spend much money you could just get a new graphics-card for around 100 Euro and 512 mb RAM. If you want to play Bf2/Fh2 you will have to invest a bit more (better graphics card and perhaps a new CPU, definately more RAM) unless you want to play with minimal settings. You could also upgrade in two steps, get a graphics-card that will satisfy your needs for FH2 (this should make FH1 playable on your current PC) and buy a new CPU and mobo later on.

| Get a new video card (Ati 9600 or FX5900) and upgrade your ram to 1GB. Every thing else looks fine.

| I've played w/ graphic settings on both all high and all medium. That doesn't seem to make that much difference. Sound I will have to look into. I've recently heard about that issue, specially w/ FH. Thanks for your reply. |

| Yeah, your CPU seems ok...You should just buy yourself a new graphics card and another stick of Ram to make it 1gb. You will notice a huge increase. Also what Fancypants said, try reducing the sound quality from 44khz to like 22khz....You will notice a difference in sound, but it greatly improves performance.
