I would go with 939 over 754, I just built my new system (754), but now i wish I would have gone with 939

AMD 64 X2 4200+
Evga 7900GT KO

Gigabyte K8NF-9
200gb Seagate Barracuda
2gb Corsair XMS

Yep, definately go for a 939 - AMD are phasing out the 754 pin slot but promise to use the 939 for the forseeable future, meaning you can upgrade your processor in years to come without needing a new motherboard - saving £70 at least.

The 939 equivelant will only set you back another £10-£20 anyway.

Putting the fun back into fundamentalism.

in addition to the 939 processor, i would think about getting a bit bigger power supply. 420 watts is a bit small, think about getting 480 watts min.

MSI K8N NEO-4F, AMD 64 4200X2 W/STOCK COOLER, 480W THERMALTAKE, XFX PCI-E 7600GT XXX 256MB, 80GB WD HD, SB AUDIGY2 ZS, 2x512MB KINGSTON PC3200 & 2x512MB CORSAIR PC3200 IN DUAL CHANNEL, VIEWSONIC 19" PF790 CRT, WIN XP PRO SP2.

Not necessarily. If you get a decent branded PSU that can sustain high output for long periods of time, you could get away with a 400, or even a 370 watt. Depending on the hardware of couse, if you plan to run dual 7800GTX cards in SLI, then you'll want something a little beefier.
