Q3A, DUN, and Pings
 

Hey all. I figured since you guys have been so good answering all of my previous stupid questions that you'd help me out with this, too. http://www.reviewseek.com/ve/ubbhtml/smile.gif

Whenever I go to play Q3A on-line and I ping servers with the Q3 browser pr Gamespy, I get pings with my modem between 180-250. These pings are fine, but what happens after I conenct is that the pings go to shit (everything times two in most cases).

Now, here's some facts to eliminate the variables:

Celeron 300 @ 463MHz
256 MB RAM
2 x 12 MB V2
Zoom Hardware (no Winmodem poop) 56K Modem (V.90)
rate set to 3200-4000 range
maxfps 30

I don't have the same inconsistancies with Q2, which leads me to believe that it's not really my connection that needs tweaking, but the game.

Any ideas? Any and all help would be appreciated.
