Default Windows XP Activation.

Hey guys, I recently bought a new hardrive and installed windows on it. When I put in the activation code for the first time when it asked for it on start up it installed just fine, but now a little bubble in the lower right of my screen pops up saying "You have 'This many' days left to activate." So I put in the CD-Key again, but it said incorrect Key. Can you guys help me out?

It's been forever and a day since I've had to activate Windows, but IIRC you don't put the key in a second time. As I recall, you just click on that stupid bubble (or in the Start Menu) and it's an automated process that Windows itself handles.

Then there must be a new process or something, because now it's asking me for the 25-Digit activation key. ><

There isn't a new process. The reason that its asking for that code is that you selected to activate windows over the phone. With this method, you call an automated phone number at Microsoft, read your CD key, and it reads back a 25-digit activation key for you to type in.

Choose to activate over the internet instead of over the phone and it does it by itself.
