No, you tell your friends/family to bring their PC and a PCI network card so you can connect to a router and play on a LAN. http://www.gamingforums.com/images/smilies/pwned.gif

Children, if any of you spam this thread any more I will remove all of your posts from this thread, valid or invalid.

Whether he is going to leave or not after we help him is irrelevant. You may choose not to help him because of this, but this is not the place to voice your opinion on such things.

Just ran across this thread... I've been having similar issues, minus the red power light.

Did you get a new power cable through the replacement program? If you did and it was a huge GFCI power cable, your power supply may be slightly busted. Microsoft so far has done a good job of covering this up.

The early Foxfire power supplies had a poor solder connection between the power plug prongs (you know, the little things inside the socket) and the motherboard, causing shortages and fires. I'm in the process of fixing mine over this weekend, I'll let you know how it turns out.

If the cord damaged the power supply, using a different controller won't help. It means the power supply is permantly damaged if I understand it correctly.

Re: Broken xbox

I can actually hear the solder that broke off rattling around in my XBox when I shake it. Also, disconnect the XBox and try to wiggle the power socket. If it's really loose, the solder's broken. But really, if your XBox is made before 04-08-2002 (the date mine was made) odds are it has a poorly contructed Foxlink 1.0 or 1.1 power supply.

www.xbox-scene.com has a whole bunch of info on this.
