In the new F.E.A.R. demo, and in the Battlefield 2 demo i get pixels all over the screen (and not the good kind) I happens mainly in very shadowy areas, but not on the shadows, just around the shadows, and some light sources.......its like a pattern of red or white pixels, and when i turn so the shadow is different, or im not facing that particular spot...they go away
i would suggest getting the official ATI drivers and also, to me certain, make sure your card isnt overheating, overheating can cause many problems, especially on newer games since the card uses more power and will get hotter
and if its heat, why does it ONLY happen at certain spots, with a lot of shadowing and special lighting and the rest of this graphic mumbo jumbo
Perhaps the chip for shadows got burned, or something along those lines?
Come to think of it, it may not be heat... It may actually have to do with the clock settings. If they are too well optimized, the card can become unstable. When it gets unstable, artifacts show up.
Try downclocking your card a little. With the memory, try to find a good ratio. Either 1:1, or 1:4 (memory:core).
