Seriously though... is it just me or are there a million posts of people who STILL dont know which video cards are "better"?

Just read one of the other several dozen simmilar posts first!

Sorry if I sound grouchy, but I was recently kicked in the nards.

250,000mg seems a little excessive. He only needs to chill a little...

I know what you mean though. Usually with video cards, you get what you pay for. With the exception of the FireGL cards and the 3Dlabs cards, usually if its more expensive, its better... people have trouble believing that.

Yeah... they also like to ignore the fact that newer generation cards are actually faster than previous. I cant count how many times ppl have asked "whats better, a 9800pro or a 6600GT" and every time we have to explain that the 6xxx series is a huge leap and that usually the 2nd fastest card from the current gen is just as fast (and cheaper) than the best previous gen cards.

and dont even get me started about AGP and PCIe...

Yes, let's not get you started. And let's also ignore the facts that:
1) Not everybody knows, or cares to know, the difference: some just come asking for advice,
2) Not everybody has the resources necessary to tear down and replace everything, no matter how much it may help them, and
3) AGP and PCIe are still on more-or-less equal footing, and will likely hang around there until the retail release of something like AGEIA's PhysX. The only constraint being placed on AGP is the lack of vendor support at high end (nVIDIA), and we all know full well that they have a very capable chip that can bridge the signal between AGP and PCIe.
