Why does the Quadro series of cards cost so much?

Anyway, for $2000 and no gaming value why do these cards cost so much?

Yes but if it's used for that shouldn't it be cheaper? $2000 is wayyy to steep.

Or is CAD so special it needs a $2000 card that's more expensive then a 7800GTX...

Quadro graphics cards are meant for high-end content creation and 3D-Rendering. it's not meant for gaming at all, if you tryed gaming on one of those things it would completely suck.

I see. But can't 7800s do the same job has the Quadros at 1/4th the price? No point in paying $2000 for something that does only one job.

Like I said before, I really do not know much about the Quadros and how they compare with 7800s. I'm just running checklists. This is the last check.

No they can't. Do some research on those type of cards and you will see.

No, a Quadro would kill a 7800 in doing what there made for.

Ahh okay thanks. But any ideas why Nvidia wants people to pay $2000 for the Quadros?
