Okay im ceratnly not very technical, but... basicly, about a week ago, the computer wouldnt go online unless you turned zone alarm off, even if you let netscape have internet acess with ZA.
Now the computer istn geting online at all,its sending 1,000 some packets or whatever and receivded 17, i would think thats a BAD thing?.
I am not quite sure what to do about that.. cause im on my laptop right now...
I was just curious if this was fixable or anything?.
I deleted a bunch of programs it said were problems, it didnt do a thing, still not getten online over there, ill work on it tomarrow, dont wanna miss nick@nite...
I was having a similiar problem. My PC wasn't sending that many packets though.
I think it was a corrupted IE 6 SP1 install. I downgraded to IE 5.01, and then upgraded back to IE 6, and it worked.
Firefox and Opera worked the whole time. I would have stayed with IE5, if Netscape 8.0b hadn't crashed everytime I visted a new site. It defaulted to using the IE6 rendering engine, and IE5.01 wasn't compatible. I had to stop the apge from loading, by pressing escape, then switch the page to the Firefox engine...
Anyway, back to the point. My problem was a corrupted update. Those may be difficult to track down, with Automatic Updates enabled.
are you on cable? if so make sure your IP has not been kicked out..try unplugging your modem and let it for 5 mins or so and then plug it back in. if that didnt work make sure your IP has not been changed by a DOS attack or whathave you. if your IP is not yours then im thinking you been hacked and need to get your IP back.
make sure your IP is your IP, that could be the prob
