Pentium 4 Remember when the pentium III's came out? each CPU had a serial number that would biscally let intel track you? or sometihng like that? i am considering building a pentium 4 (i run SETI @home, Folding @home, and BOINC, and these CPU's can run two instances of whever program i choose to run). biscally, what i want to know is does the pentium 4 have the same issue? Thanks! |
Re: Pentium 4 i havent heard of any doing so, but that doesnt mean it doesnt have the issue |
Re: Pentium 4 Every CPU ever made has a serial number, but no one is tracking you with it. your a being a little to paranoid! |
Re: Pentium 4 there was a "bug" intel clamed it was in the security features with the pentium 3 cpu's that would let people track you via the serial code, or something like that, i can not remember exactly, it was in the year 2000 i heard it |
Re: Pentium 4 well i dunno but id say that it would almost certainly be wiped out now ;) |
