ram and video card
 
ok i whent out and upgraded my video card to a Geforce fx 5500 and added 1Gb of pc130 ram now when i try to play a game the computer will restart but it is not effected by IL2 or pacific fighters
how can i fix it

Have you updated your nVidia drivers, to the latest version. Its about 71.xx now.

yea i have all the updates and evga is no help they keep asking me dumb questions

and something is wrong with my linux side after i added this hardware

it could be a dodgy piece of RAM that you installed

what mobo do you have?I would have recommended PC3200 DDR RAM.

Yeah, that is what I'm thinking.

Some kind of RAM conflict, or something.

What kind of RAM is the first stick, and the second? Also do you have an Intel, or AMD system. ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, nVidia, or Intel, or antoher motherboard?

I notice you said you have PC130, would that be PC133 SDRAM? Or PC1300 DDR?
Either way, it doesn't sound to familiar to me, and I suspect that may be the problem.

its 2sticks of PC133 SDRAM 512Mb and 1 old DDR333 256Mb
cpu is amdxp 2200+ DEM 14000Mhz
powersupply is 300w
mob is MSI KT4VI KT 400 33FSB

I suggest you remove the DDR memory, and place it in a static shield bag, and keep it stored dry, at room temperature.

The other option is to sell all your memory, and get two 512mb sticks of DDR.

Either choose SDRAM, or DDR, not both.
