Re: ram and video card yea i have all the updates and evga is no help they keep asking me dumb questions and something is wrong with my linux side after i added this hardware |
Re: ram and video card monster user knows everything about linux :D it could be a dodgy piece of RAM that you installed |
Re: ram and video card what mobo do you have?I would have recommended PC3200 DDR RAM. |
Re: ram and video card Quote:
Some kind of RAM conflict, or something. What kind of RAM is the first stick, and the second? Also do you have an Intel, or AMD system. ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, nVidia, or Intel, or antoher motherboard? I notice you said you have PC130, would that be PC133 SDRAM? Or PC1300 DDR? Either way, it doesn't sound to familiar to me, and I suspect that may be the problem. |
Re: ram and video card its 2sticks of PC133 SDRAM 512Mb and 1 old DDR333 256Mb cpu is amdxp 2200+ DEM 14000Mhz powersupply is 300w mob is MSI KT4VI KT 400 33FSB |
Re: ram and video card I suggest you remove the DDR memory, and place it in a static shield bag, and keep it stored dry, at room temperature. The other option is to sell all your memory, and get two 512mb sticks of DDR. Either choose SDRAM, or DDR, not both. |
