Dell 9300 vs Dell XPS-2 I need advice on which to pick as a gaming notebook. It seems like I can upgrade the 9300 to almost the same specs as XPS-2, and save about 500 $. http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/topi...n&s=dhs&~tab=2 |
Re: Dell 9300 vs Dell XPS-2 XPS has the 6800 for better gaming. But less battery life. If you MUST have a notebook for gaming, might as well get the best you can get IMO. Can you upgrade to the 6800 in the cheaper one? Without reading and configuring the whole thing, just tell us what is not able to be added to the 9300 that the XPS has? XMSDisplay: Get the big, sharp picture! 17" Wide UXGA display with TrueLifeTM (1920 x 1200) driven at blazing speed by a 256MB NVIDIA® GeForceTM Go 6800 ULTRA PCI ExpressTM x16 video card VS 9300 Display: Stunning viewing area with the 17" Wide-Aspect UltraSharpTM display. WXGA+ (1440 x 900) and WUXGA with TrueLifeTM (1920 x 1200) Also the XPS says Chipset: Intel's 915PM with 533MHz FSB, Dual Channel (when both DIMM sites populated) DDR2 memory and PCI Express x16 Graphics. Another added benefit for gaming. |
Re: Dell 9300 vs Dell XPS-2 IMO, i would definatly go with the XPS. |
Re: Dell 9300 vs Dell XPS-2 :agreed go wth the XPS |
Re: Dell 9300 vs Dell XPS-2 Is the 256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800 Ultra in XPS-2 worth the price? The 9300 has the non-ultra Go 6800. And the processor is a little faster in XPS-2. Are these worth the extra price? |
Re: Dell 9300 vs Dell XPS-2 yes, id say so, however i must say about the Pentium-M, it doesnt like to get a little bit hot, when it does it lowers its clock speed dramatically so in games, when you go on one the CPU will warm up and eventually go MEGA slow, causing in huge, unplayable lag but it gets a http://img.dell.com/images/ca/segmen...crcn_bestw.giffor gaming so it should be ok |
