where my monitor is now it wouldnt be heaven, it would be full of painful headaches and maybe haemorrhages, i have 17" CRT about a 3rd to a half of a meter away, so a 82" LCD would kill me

nice to dream more though

Doom 3 played on that with a good 2,000 watt JBL surround sound speaker system would clear out my sinuses and unload my bowels.

Might be nice to watch DVD movies, but I prefer to play on a 17". Something that doesn't annoy anyone else around me. I also don't like big fancy gadgets that have little or no purpose.

Tell me, my friend, have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

Aiya, I don't think I would be able to use one of those without having a bottle of Advil close by.

The massive res you'd need to see properly should be easily handled by the x800/6800s of today. That is, if they really are worth the exhorbitant price they go for... My 9600 can go fine at 1024x768 so for something 5 times the price i would expect flawless performance at something like 1900x1600 w/ everything maxed...or bigger... but as I've seen from mates' pc's they really aren't that great (HL2 bottoms out at 1280x1024 everthing maxed).

Still I'd love a bigger screen than my 17" crt...
