You'd need a 3dLabs Wildcat to display anything anywhere near the resolution that thing will demand. Another *700 out your pocket.

well the max resolution my 9600xt can stand is 2048x1536, so surely it wouldnt look that bad in HDTV (1920x1080)

Well the max resolution of the wildcat is about 4000x3000. Beat that ;)
