I have a question,
it's about time I updated my videocard, from the ultra slow geforce Fx 5200 128MB/64bit, to the next step up, for my budget I've been looking at a Radeon R9550 CDT 256Mb/128bit, or a Geforce FX 5500 256Mb/128bit, i've been to both product's sites and they pretty much look the same, can anyone offer some sage-like advice, which is the better performer?
as this weekend i'm hopefully going to be buying another 512Mb DDR Ram and a videocard. can anyone guide me in which card would be better for my system?
Thanks
Itto

Do you have some more cash?
If so then get a 9800pro for a 9600pro.
Get this 9600pro 256mb only $120 The 9550 is old and slow for todays games.
If you can only get one of the 2, get the 9550 then.

Just go out and buy one at a local computer store or at Comp USA.

ok,
thanks Vash2000,
Down here in Oz, Radeon 9600 XT 128Mb/128bit is roughly $340 from Winner Computers
Do you know the difference between SE, XT, and LE after card names?

Se- crap
Xt-the fastest/most expensive
LE- better than se but still crap.
The 9600pro i showed would be around $150AU Don't buy the $300 one your getting scammed badly.
Look for a site that ships worldwide since newegg does not.

You will be paying topdollar for it though.
Also, what kind of games do you like to play? If you like Half life 2 and doom 3 then go for a 9800pro or an x800 insted. But if you like older games then the 9600pro/Xt will be fine.

Yeah i know what you mean about the Geforce 5200, i have one and i am starting to hate it. and like pethegreat said, i would get a 9800Pro or a X800 if you want to play the newer games well.
