I've found that UK servers are very cheap. Check these places:

But if you are just making a small site, just go here and get 10Mb of space free with NO ad banners or anything. Just host your graphics on Imageshack or something and it's all you need. There is no catch, all you have to do is buy a domain name (they're very cheap).

my first choice was hostfront but it is down or closed i think
