Question What are the differences between nVidia and ATI??

I've heard lots of different opinions on graphics cards from nVidia vs. those from ATI, and I wanna know..what are the differences between the cards? Which cards are best for which purposes, such as video, music or gaming?

Well you can buy a video card, with sound, but that would totally suck. I always stuck with Nvidia, mainly because it is more reliable for overclocking Ati is cheaper so you would probably want to research this on your own(www.cnet.com) o yea, get ready for the flaming of your life because audio has nothing to do with a VIDEO card.

I am a huge, HUGE Nvidia fan, but I can even admit that in terms of performance, there is no real differnce between the two companies top-of-the line cards. But from what I hear, currently the ATI card 9800XT just barelys beats out the nvidia 5950 Ultra. But the a margin so small, you would probably, no, almost certainly never see the difference

The only dumb question is an unasked question.

No benefits, just compare performance. There's too many chipsets to generalize.

lol i know nVidia audio sucks. So basically nVidia tends to be more stable (I've also heard it's better for video recording and editing) but other than that there's very little difference.

Ya, what Peeping Tom Said. All Nforce mother boards have Nvidia sound cards on the (mostly Integrated i think) I honestly don't know if they are any good or not.
