I'll start with the Tyranid 1000 point list that a friend of mine made, which I love...You may notice it's a lil' off in points, but it can easily be fixed.

Pretty Solid, although I'd make the fex shooty and give him a venom cannon, barbed strangler and enhanced senses. your force lacks any long ranged firepower as it is.

1. Ranged Firepower? Are you kidding me? This list is built for close combat and to fit in that Carnifex configuration, I would have to sacrifice precious Spinegaunts! (Hehe) That said this list isn't mine, but the player has yet to loose with this list, as the opponent has damn hard time deciding what the shoot at: The big Carnifex or the horde of Gaunts? The Warriors or the horde of Gaunts? One Ravener or 32 Gaunts? :P Get my drift?

2. This list is speedy, other than the Carnifex. And trust me, if I could I would change the 'Fex to a shooty one as well, but that would lessen the psychological factor of the Gaunt horde.

I am beginning to think that Gaunts are way more than their point value, almost as much as Grots. :P

I get that it's a cc list, i kind of figured but if you make the carnifex shooty he will draw a lot more fire from the rest of the army because he will be dropping pie plates from turn 1. I never use a CC fex, as they are better gun platforms than any other unit the 'nids have.

Well i have................... um..................... 3 land raiders and 5 preds! I kinda got lazy after the dow game came out :P I wuz gonna get more tanks just for show and a space marine army (with a couple termies) but......... the tanks took a little longer than expected to paint and after i finshed them all, dow came out, so i just desided to keep what i had and stop

He also wants a Commissar and Honour Guard, 5xTanith snipers, 2xVindicare Assassins and 3xHeavy Weapon Squads.

This comes to a total of more that 3000 points and £700

That is the tyranids main strength: they pwn everything in cc, especially those carnifexes. If anybody has any questions about it, ask WH40K, he has loads of experience from these sort of things... Hehehe...
Yeah, its better to give carnifexes cc weapons coz that increases their ability to kill, which is mega high without upgrades anyway.

Um... carnifaxes arent very good at CC even with upgrades... i mean, they can take out tanks, but they cant really handle entire squads. Tyranids dont pwn everything at cc, genestealers are amazing, fighty warriors are great, hive tryants and guard are good, but there are better cc armies.
