Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop Do you ever play this DOW game and think to yourself, well if that could only really do that in the table top. I know I do quite often. I play Orks on DOW and they are so much better then they are in real life. I mean the only way orks really win in table top is to play Speed Freeks or Savage Orks, BUT in this game they can just foot slodge it and still kick azz. I mean look at the Eldar Avatar in the game, his is a dominant force and just kicks azz, but in real like he just dies to bolters within 2 turns, lol. Or how great the possessed are in the game, man if they could only do that on the table!!!!! The game tricks you into buying new armies and then when you get them you are very very very disappointed. |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop Yeah there are loads of differences between the TT and DoW, the main one being that on the Table Top you only get one wound for a basic soldier, and he/she/it can die pretty easily*especially if there a eldar guardian ^^*, but in DoW there is hundreds of little health points. What I would like to see is a sort of Skirmish Mode where it actually plays out like the real TT game, but is still DoW and in real time. So you could have 2,000 points of troops and use them to the best of your strategic ability. Unfortunately i cant mod..at all. What do you think? |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop dark blonde i thought of that aswell it should be done! i to cant mod and DoW is really different than TT i collect SM :) and i think heavy bolter damage should be upped a little bit but on all weapons a reduced fireing rate (slightly) maybe? i dunno |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop ya thats a really good idea but like u i cant mod to save my life ah well |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop sorry to rain on your parade. and i do somewhat agree with you. but you need to remember that dow is not table top and will never be table top. |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop rabid thats not what we are saying |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop What I don't get is how a guardsman can be hit from a leman russ shell, or a plasma gun and still live. I mean, he'd be blown to bits. |
Re: Dawn of War in comparison to TableTop The only thing i find different to TT is the fact that you can shoot into combat. I belive that's against the rules? I haven't had a good read of the new rulebook yet. But then again, how boring would it be in DoW if you coudn't? Especially helping out allies or your own troops and such. |
