The Tau definately have disadvantages. If they lose the Ethereal they get morale hosed. The sniper drones units only need to lose the spotter and their nothing more than fancy targets. And they still suck in h2h. And all the nice toys cost points and deplete troop numbers.

And yes. Necrons. hmmmm.

Well ive never perzonally played or fought tau on the feild of battle but my friend virtually wiped them out using asdruebal vect and incubi ( yesss he has dark eldar cus hes a freak) in CC with the mobility of raiders dark eldar beat the tau in a cleanse mission , if your a good player, . Also new tau units like the vespid are making them stronger . And to all those tau haters out there dont hate tau cus imperium is much better , men have been around for 40, 000 years , hence warhammer 40k , and tau are like babys give 'em some time to grow

the imp would have squitted the tau many years ago if the fleet sent to destory the tau homeworld didn't get lost in the warp

I've used Tau in TT before and it was me agaisnt 2 SM armies(1500pts.)(before the new codex and new people) and I destroyed them. By the time they made it to me they had barely any people left and then I just had my kroot finish them off in CC.

Also, I've used SM agaisnt Tau(only armies I haven't used are the IG WH and Chaos) and I beat them without giving them a second look(figure of speech) so it could really go either way.

when you were playing the 2 sm armies did they walk towards you? or did the clever thing and use vehicles and Dsing

One walked towards me and the other stayed back with vehicles( I focused on the vehicles and managed to kill them kinda easily, might have just been the dice that night).

I dunno avout this un. I voded for the Imperium, but it is a little unfair. The Tau are a new race compared to the Imperium, they Imperium has many different armies (e.g Space Marines, I.G, Deamonhunters ect) so it is pretty lopsided.

the imperium all the way.but at GW there was a battle tau vs. imperial guard and the tau slaughtered the imperial guard. it was pretty sad the tau kid nocked out the other kids tanks, ordance, and half of his infantry in the first turn with his hammerhead tanks. bad spelling.

Superior technology makes them amazing. Plus, if the imperium commited all their forces in attacking tau, all their other enemies would swoop in and crush them.

excuse me OZONE673 i played a quick battle on TT other day to see who wud win 10 SM with bolters or 12 fire warriors with pulse rifle...SM won! Tau all died and the SM only lost 3 men! becus i dnt kno tau rules i thought that the pulse rifles were 6 strength 4AP and i let the tau off with sum rolls to hit on sum of the last turns i dnt even bother to roll to hit with the tau just 2 give em a chance....oh and btw... they do suck :) oh and the imperium / humans have lasted over 43,000years Tau are only 6000 years old!
