Telos Academy Issue

Private messages are meant for communication so not all crap gets unloaded into the forums. And don't see this as a revenge-post or something but... you're making the least sense of us all, honestly.
Try working on that... I don't want to fight you, I just thought it might help you gain some more seriousness...

I'm also having the same issue. I don't believe its mod-related. I've completely removed the override folder and still haven't beaten this bug. Also done multiple re-installs. At this point, I'd take a "Skip Telos Academy" mod just so I can play through again.

If you have a savegame before entering the academy, you should load it. Once you have, you should speak to the Handmaidens you encounter instantly. When they ask you to drop your weapons, don't choose that option immediately. Ask them who they are first. If you drop your weapons immediately without asking them who they are, you'll activate the cheat node.

The second thing is yet another solution, which would help if you don't have a savegame before entering the academy (and an easy option to those who are familiar with the Kotor Savegame Editor). Open up KSE. Should you not have it, you can download it HERE. Then, all you have to do is set the global variable "262TEL_Atton_Talk", to "1".

this thread ISN'T about the cheat node issue. i'm having the issue that the OP is having, the exact same one. no matter what dialog option is chosen for the handmaiden when entering the academy, the screen just goes black, like the game can't go to the next cutscene.

Oh for goodness sake the telos mod won't wrk it only skips the telos citadel station alright we need something else.

Hi all,

Sorry to barge in un invited and all that but low and behold I appear to have the same problem as a few have mentioned above. Any response given leads me to a black screen in which I can hear sound and see my mouse cursor.

Now I have read the above posts and found them helpful. I tried new drivers but there up to date and I even surfed a bit looking for fixes/mods. I found this one "Ice" which I found on filefront and it reportedly fixs this issue. Installed fine but upon trying it again I have found that I still have the same issue.

Not to despair thou, using KSE I changed the the atton to 1 as suggested by Graeme. This seems to have worked fine but I am embarrassed to say I havnt played in such a long time I have forgoten what dialog I have missed and will I have picked up a new quest?

ps I havnt seen any cheat node thingy and from what I can tell its purely and issue with playing the dialouge thingy Id love to know if there are any other fixes worth trying but not essential.

Edit: Seems I was wrong, although this resolved the issue with the force cage conversation it now results with Atris not working and not being able to free my party etc etc......If and when I figure it all out I shall post so it may be of help to others.

Hi all again,

Sorry to double post but as I said earlier I am posting what I have found out in the hope it helps others. This is mainly addressed to people like Dart, jkockhead and the like who have had the same problem as me.

Now before I go on, Graemes fix will actually work but mainly for people who have the Cheat node problem. Now for those who have the same problem as me using the kse fix will probably allow you to progress past the force cage conversation but you then find yourself in a spot of bother as the Atris conversation never happened and you cant interact with certain NPC's Free the prisoners and so on. I had a look at the various Globals and made some progress changing some of the stats but in all honesty I am not familiar enough to inform you all what else needs to be changed here to allow others to continue (Perhaps Graeme or another who knows more may be able to inform us).

So I looked at it from another prospective. As many stated above this is a MOD problem and correct me if I am wrong but from my understanding it caused mainly by at least two Mod's effecting the Tel262 atton dlg and others that effect Handmaiden related dlg.s. Im waffling on now so Ill get to the point.

I have it all working fine now by running these Mod's and using TSL installers and KMM. If like me your new to modding this game I suggest you just use this setup which makes use of some very good mods.

KMM:

Install the feat gain, feat power and increased stuff mod (These are not required but if like me you use a mod to make the game harder then perhaps a wise decision).

TSL:

Then using the TSL installer add Finall touch (This is a awesome Mod that seems to fix Telos well and adds some great gear to the game amongst other things).

Below are the mods I like using at the moment, its up to you what you install from this list but if you add mods not listed here make sure they do not conflict with Final Touch or effect Telos Academy!

KMM:

Ebon Hawk Cargo Mod (new one as it conflicted with bacta thing but seems ok up till now)
Briane exile love (Short love scene mod, seeing as I get non I love to watch others fall)

A long list I know but I have just finished Telos with it and no probs at all. You remember I mentioned conflicting MODs in my case it was the Rebuild Jedi Temple Mod that caused the conflict and led to things not working. Really you just need to make sure that any of your mods are not conflicting with what I mentioned above.

I really hope this helps people out a bit and Im pretty sure the above mods shouldnt cause problems later on for people but obviously I havnt got that far. I recommend you use KMM its made life so easy for me and easier to spot potential mod conflict.
