Mando Hate?

Hey there, this is really a rather off topic question, so ill get straight to the point of this post. Why to people hate mandalorians? (specifically those featured in Karen Traviss's novels) I know that there is a rather rabid fanbase of mando lovers, who are quick to pass judgement on both jedi and sith as being 'weaklings'. I myself am an avid mando fan, albeit a more mundane one. the most often quoted reason for hating mandos and their fans that i have noticed is their immediate attempts to claim that jedi are in the wrong. Why is this? I am not posting this in the defence of mandalorians, i would just like to hear other peoples opinions so that I can see a larger picture.

Feel free to comment about your feelings to mandalorians and fandalorians.

Well, I'm not quite a Mandalorian fan myself, but it would be most likely that it's the preference of the fans themselves. However... they might think the same as Mandalorians, who see the Jedi as weaklings (most Mandalorians do -- as you can see in KOTOR and KOTOR II).

true, but myslef being a mandalorian fan, I have never really thought that jedi were weak, just flawed. And that is not coming as an attack from a mando fan, just a statement of fact, that has been referenced many times in pre Galactic civil war novels and games. I think that mando fans seem to get rather heated in their defence of mandalorians. Yes, they are formidable. yes, they did almost overrun the republic. but that was four thousand years before karen traviss's mandos. Get over it guys. I know im rather contradictory on this, but I respect mandalorians just as much as I respect jedi and sith.

being the Mando fan i am, i think that the Jedi and the Sith don't give enough credit to the Mandalorians as they should. If we all would just look back to the Mandalorian Wars the the Neo-Cruesade, the Madalorians have shaken the Galexy just as the Jedi and Sith have. i may have gotten of topic, but express your feelings. and here's a question for us Mando fans: what if a Mandalorian became a Jedi?

I think it's because that mandolorians are so strong and are not even force sensitive.
Jango killed loads of Jedi and Sith alike.......and had no control over the force, same with Boba

To the post above:

Well the mandolorians hated the jedi and Sith viewing them as the same, Boba especially hated them and under his rule the mandolorians followed so if one was force sensitive them either wouldn't be found or would prebably refuse to go

I would have loved to see Mandalorians instead of stormtroopers or clone's, Yeah I know the
clones were sampled from jango. Madnalorians have always been merc's. it would have made more
sence to use them instead of conveniently have a clone army out of thin air.

the empire could build a death star but never concidered hiring mando merc's for an army

Re: Mando Hate?

Because mandolrians didn't exactly agree with the empire and especially not Vader or Sidious as they were force users.
The clones were taught some mandolorian heritage and some even went beserk and one even re-awoke memories of Jango fett and fled becoming a mandolorian. Some clones even after retirement went to the mandolorians and Boba

The reason for the hatred toward "fandalorians" by people other that Karen Traviss (who verbally abuses them for not agreeing with her or criticising her work) is because they think Mandalorians are the single best thing about Star Wars.

It's much the same as all the Revanites who think Revan is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Uhm... getting back to the original question: Isn't it possible that some people simply hate Mandalorians because they are war-mongering killers who say they must gain honour and destroy everything in their way because of that? ( -> Mandalorian Wars?)

Yeah but of course people always like evil as it's just...almost fun!
and I suppose thats why people like them because they are ruthless killers and like Fyurii said some people think they are the absolute best.
