| yea but bioware also said a few months ago they are done making games that arent original IPs- so how does that fit in to them working on a game with lucasarts. and also according to many reports bioware let out info that it is a kotor styled mmo atleast kotor time so i guess it could be swg2 if the era is kotor |

There's no evidence to support the claim. Let's face it, if you had access to information like this, wouldn't you be able to get - and provide - proof in order to enhance your credibility? And why would you go to some relatively unknown Wordpress blog, when you could go to the big sites like IGN, Gamespot, or 1Up? Also, remember that Bioware have, over the last four years, remained consistently insistent that they have no interest in pursuing any further involvement with either KotOR or Star Wars in general. Plus there's the fact that if LucasArts made any move to undermine their contractual agreement with Sony they would be leaving themselves open to a majorly expensive lawsuit. Undeniably, Bioware's recent statement about not wanting to work with other people's established IPs is also rather daming evidence. I'm not saying the MMORPG is not Star Wars related - I'm in no position to say that (yet, anyway). All I'm saying is, given the evidence it's a dubious claim, at best. So, don't let yourself get hyped up, otherwise you'll feel mighty disappointed if things don't work out that way. Take it with a pinch of salt, is the term that springs to mind.

| i wont be disappointed cuz i have been waiting but not so seriously, only since new rumors have arisen. also the deal with sony ends in 2008 and we all know swg is a load of crud- however in an attempt to continue their swg game i feel they are slowly bringing back pre-nge material as to recruit more fans back to swg. if u remember swg had somewhere in the range of 700k accounts prior to the nge now they have less than 50k- this star wars based mmo is down the drain and lucasarts knows that starwars will sell like it always has they just need to start over |

| nge? whats that? anyway swg was ok, i tried the trial of it, but it's not really worth paying for, anyway i honestly hope that kotor3 sticks with the gameplay like it was in the first 2 games

| The Pre-NGE material is more likely a side effect of SOE assigning a new dev team to SWG, apparently because they "felt the developers were moving Star Wars Galaxies in a direction we felt was weaking the game" (translation from Corporatese to English: "they're bloody idiots and we should have fired them sooner"). I believe one SOE official apologised for the foolishness of not listening to the fans at the time, which may also explain the revisions - redemption. As for SWG's subscriber numbers.... Understated. There are definitely a lot more than 50k people playing on the Europe servers alone - they're almost always rated as "Heavy" during the day. Quote:
NGE was preceeded by the CU (Combat Upgrade), which similarly FUBAR'd the whole game according to some. Personally, I didn't mind, I liked the Pre-CU/Pre-NGE systems, but the new system doesn't particularly piss me off either.

| the thing u tried is the nge- its the starwars version of WoW it sucks but they are trying to bring back pre-cu game qualities |

| Coronet is pretty out of the way these days, what with Mos Eisley being the new starter planet. My old guild on Europe-Chimaera still used Coronet as a meeting place every Sunday before our space PvP, though, so it still sees use - preferred social area is just Tatooine now.

| Bioware is not doing it, ive been reading up on KOTOR 3 and one poster said his brother worked at Bioware and said they did not want to work with the kotor series because lucas arts was pushy with the development and plot lines |

| hahahaha i had a friends whos uncle was in the business of lightbulb selling and he overheard 1 of his customers yelling at his son because he was talking about a videogame series known as kotor and how his uncle (the fathers brother) is a developer for bioware videogames and kotor 3 is in the making... |

| I read an online articel about a year ago that Lucas Arts fired their production team before KOTOR III was on the drawing board to focus on other endeavors. The team that originally created KOTOR I & II were fired as a result of new managment being hired. KOTOR III was scrapped as a result. Lucas Arts is about to launch The Force Unleashed. I think that Lucas Arts is focusing on keeping the stories closer to the movie saga. That doesn't make me happy, though. Lucas, through proxy, created a galaxy with close to some 30,000 years worth of history ripe for the telling. Why not continue the KOTOR Series? But it doesn't have to deal with Revan or the Exile. Why not go 1000 years back before the Mandalorian Wars? Why not do a game during the Great Hyperspace Wars? Why not do the Sith Wars with Exar Kun, Nomi Surider, Jolee Bindo, Cay and Ulic Qel-Droma? Why not do 500 years BBY (before the Battle of Yavin) and do a Yoda Story? Why focus on something that should be put to bed? Don't get me wrong. I love Revan. But let it be. Maybe Revan is one of the Lost 20.
