| Try as I might, I cannot find *any* mod adding blood and gore (and ideally multiple dismemberment) to TSL. I can hardly believe that I am the only player out there who is annoyed by the sterile, bloodless battles. I see my lightsaber go right through an opponent's body, I expect *some* bleeding, right? I'd be grateful for *anything* in that direction. Or is it just too hard to do for technical reasons? Best, Saberslinger |

| And you probably will never find a mod that does this... not to sound rude. A mod like this would be extremely difficult, I doubt you would even be able to make disenmember-ment. It would require basicaly rewiting the game. Blood might be a little easier to do than disenmember-ment but would still be very very hard. -haKZ

| Ok, I can see where dismemberment would be horribly difficult to impossible to implement. I still wonder why there isn't even a blood mod attempt. At this point, it wouldn't take brilliant fountains out of multiple stumps to satisfy me. Just a randomized texture modification would be great (saying since I suspect that the game doesn't have any collision detection to speak of). |

| Would require you to script the whole stuff (can you even write scripts that change the skins of people? Never tried scripting here...) and then paint every single skin with blood. Unless you don't want all characters in the game to look identical in appearance and clothing, that's a hell of a lot to paint...

| Ok, alternatively, how about a mod that uses one of those graphic effects like in the usual battles (e.g. with force powers etc). Even just a on-hit red fluffy effect cloud around the saber/melee weapon would be fantastic. |

| You say that like it's a simple thing to do. KotOR was not designed to be modded at all so what little we can do usually doesn't involved advanced modding, like scripting, shaders, effects, etc. If you know how to do it, have at it. If you don't, I have absolutely no idea how to even begin to attempt doing what you want because the documentation we have for KotOR series modding is simply incomplete, since most of it was written by modders who had to figure out by trial and error. Keep your expectations realistic. If it's been 6 years and nobody's made a blood mod you can probably figure out why that might be. |

| Take it from people that have been doing this for a long time... It's nigh impossible. -haKZ

| Ok, thanks for your replies and explanations. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled at any of this (never done it anyway). |

| And where might that documentation be at for the new comers like me that want to mod but dont know where to start when it comes to downloading programs and such. I cant seem to find a "basics to modding KOTOR" tutorial anywhere. |
