Make sure that the file is not set as Read only.

Do this by right clicking on the file, going to Properties, the 'General' tab, and then making sure 'Read-only' is unticked.

Then click 'OK'.

I'm having the same problem. I'll add Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1 to the ini file but it won't let me save it. How do I fix that?

i have the same problem, but there are "Lag spots" where the lag
starts on dantooine. for me in TSL it's near the enclave.
when i'm in the area i stand still & pan the camera around
by pushing A or D. the camera lags for a second but then it pass
and i'm able to move normaly again after that. Not saying
it'll work for eveyone because i don't know that, it works
for me though.

I think i got it guys! For the pathing problem you must drag the swkotor.ini out onto your desktop then add the words. Then drag it back into the file where it originally was.
