Default New to the Modding scene: Problem

Hello all!

I am new to Modding for Star Wars Knights of the old republic, the first Modding and Modeling I've done was for Star Trek Legacy, I modeled my own ship.

Any way my experience though minor has helped me so far, well seeing as how well I modeled out my ship (as stated above) My mother who also happens to be a big fan of this game, wanted me to model out a New Lightsaber for her. Everything went fine I modeled the Saber out in Milkshape ( I think for me it is easier to use since I have had to use it for ST Legacy) then I find milkshape is does not have the capability to export the thing to the necessary format, so I download Gmax and found out I needed the NWmax to help with this okay, and got the Mlops and Kotor Tool (and learning how to use Gmax was no easy task.), so in Milkshape I converted the HIlt to .3DS followed the instructions given by both the Website and Mlop's Tutitoral, Still the Hilt I created will not show up on the Replacer Menu in Mlops.

I to my knowledge I have followed every instruction to a "T" using NWmax to open up the Hilt I made Scaling it down to size, retexturing it, moving it in place, linking it, grouping it, trimeshing it, ResetX form, and finally exporting it, still the Hilt does not show up on the menu when I go to replace it. Any Ideas? Did I miss a step or just not do something right, or is it the Tools? I am getting a Big headache over this thing .

Help is much appreicated here.

First of all, resetting your transforms after you link something up is a big no-no. Make sure you unlink, reset xform, then link it back up. In any case that's likely not your problem. Hilts are unreasonably complicated and take a lot of steps. You probably missed one -- God knows I did the first two or three times I modeled a hilt for this game, and I was an "experienced modder" as well. Go back over it with a fine-toothed comb. If you're not already using this tutorial please consider using it. It is an excellent resource.
