How do you install mods on Kotor I ?
 

Okay well... hi !
I've played kotor ALOT before and I just moved away from it. I played a few online games, went a away from video games, onto the JK3 scene and back to kotor but now, I want to play with a twist... mods !

JK3 can be modded to death, kotor... I'm not so sure. Anyways, back to the subject ! Jk3 downloading is pretty easy, download, save, extract to base.
I'm not too informed about kotor so I dunno...

Every mod I tried to install doesn't work.
Here's what I do...
1.Download
2.Save to Override
3.Extract to override
4.Slam my head against the wall wondering what I did wrong.
Okay remove the last one but anyways...

So yeah, could anyone explain to me what I need to do step by step (yes I know but I don't care... it's listed in my very own name !)

Did you read the installation instructions in the read-me? If not, the first thing to do is reading the readme file included with the mod. Most mods say how to install them in their readmes.

Here's my suggestion:
1. Download mod.
2. Read the readme & look at the installation instructions.
3. Do what the installation instructions tell you.
4. Have fun playing your game with the mod installed.

Try doing thus:
1. Download mod
2. Save to somewhere other than the override.(so the override doesn't get cluttered
3. Extract to somewhere other than the override.
4. Move all the files except the readme, to the override folder.

Or just don't save at all. Just open it.

I don't really get the readme s, in general I do what they say and it doesn't work :(. I'll try opening them .

Are you talking about mods that say you should copy the files to the override or about mods that use other files to do that? (like .exe files do often)

Any mods ! I can't seem to understand how to download ANY mods.
I was only successful with the download of 1 mod (that was the "all party jedi", I didn't like it and removed it), I tried to do the same thing with other mods and it didn't work. :(

the DOWNLOAD is the problem? Well... then maybe I should ask you the most important question: do you or do you not posess a copy of WinRAR? If not, go download the free trial (I won't comment on the version but I think most of you know what I mean when I say trial) and extract the mods... if it doesn't work: okay, sorry if that seems ridiculous but: are you sure your override folder is in the directory your start file for kotor is in?

I figured it out (by trial and error) but here's what I was wondering. If you get an installation process and at the bottom it says it's done, is it 100 % certain that it will work ingame ?
