Bat. files not working

I've been having this issue for a while now. So, I can't run Jedi Academy on Vista without choosing "Run as administrator". However, when I choose to run as administrator on a bat. file, such as the dedicated server bat. for JA+, the "command prompt" will flash on screen for a few milliseconds, and then goes away and nothing happens. But when I choose to run it normally, it says "vm_create on game failed".

I have the same "flashing on screen" issue with several other bat. files such as "PMG viewers" for other games. It's been bugging the heck out of me that I can't run most of the mod/mod tools I download, as usually they are bat.'s.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks:bows:

Quick edit: I forgot to mention, the new GLA anims for JA+ don't work, even though I've enabled them in server.cfg.

you'll need to right click, go to the properties of, and 'always run as administrator' the file jamp.exe in gamedata, and possibly use compatibility mode.

See http://forums.filefront.com/sw-jk3-p...solutions.html - VM_Create on <xxx> failed

Re: Bat. files not working

I've already read the "read me".

The "always run as administrator" option is unavailable. (transparent)

Any further ideas?

Edit: I misunderstood your post. I've chosen the "always admin" option for "jamp" and it fixed the not being able to run the "Play_japlus" bat. However, it did not fix the "vm_create on game failed" issue I have with the dedicated server bat.

Keep in mind, when I choose "run as admin", the command prompt will flash on screen, disappear, and nothing happens. Again, thanks for your time.

Edit 12 seconds after last edit: I've now picked the admin option for "jampded" app as well, and it fixed the vm_create issue. Thanks. However, do you have any idea why JA+ won't run the "new GLA anims" no matter what?

I had this issues once also for no reason at all. (The GLA anims) but after reinstalling JK3 and JA+, it worked. :|

I hate having to reinstall things, though. I hope there's a quicker/easier solution.

You shouldn't have to reinstall.

Make sure you don't have any conflicting animation mods.
JA+ specific animation mods should be fine to be kept in the japlus directory (not base), and I don't know why Slider insists on putting it in base..

For me, they have never worked without putting them in my base folder. Couldn't tell you why, though.

Amazing, considering I can get my mod-specific animations working perfectly without having them in my base folder.
+1 Slider. + fucking 1

Lucky you, I wish I had the same luck.

Also, it's ONLY JA+ animations that don't seem to work when not in the base folder. Everything else works perfect if loaded through a mod folder, which I find rather odd...

How do they not work:
-Are you capable of using them, but it gives you the jesus-anim (arms/legs stretched randomly)?
-Are you simply not capable of using them at all?

If it's the first, they're working fine but something is installed/randomly going poof wrong on your side
If it's the second, make sure your server.cfg includes the following lines (specially the top one):

seta jp_newGLAAnims 1
seta jp_ledgeGrab 1

Re: Bat. files not working

I really don't see how being able to grab a ledge would have anything to do with animations working or not working...

Because if it's disabled, some might think they don't work. Read his post again :p

Re: Bat. files not working

Oh, right! Forgot to say, problem fixed! It was just a base mod interfering with the animations. /amkiss and /amhug don't work, but everything else is fine!

Thanks for your help all. And to the guy who is having a problem, and correct me if I didn't read thoroughly enough, it sounds like you may have messed up some JA+ files. Try uninstalling and reinstalling japlus, after you delete all the files related to japlus. Here are the list of files:

Base(folder)

Credits(folder)

japlus(folder)

japlus_tools(folder)

faq

jampded

libcxa.so.1

linuxjampded

patch_ded_server1.011_readme

play_japlus

plugin_readme

readme_main

start_japlus_autorestart_dedicatedserver

start_japlus_linux_autorestart.sh

start_japlus_using_raven_dedicated_server_pack

start_japlus_without_dedicated_raven_pack

Delete everything inside of the japlus related folders, and the folders themselves. Hope I helped xD
