File With An Unknown Purpose

Okay, this is going to seem like the dumbest post in the world to some of you, but I was going through all of my downloaded files for JKA and I came across a file that I cannot seem to figure out. Mainly, I don't know what it was. It's called simply "N2.pk3"

If anyone knows what this file is, can you please tell me so I can put it in a folder for future reference? I'm trying to sort out all of my files, and this one...well, I'm at a loss. Please help! Somehow!

Open that puppy up with pakscape or winzip/rar. See whats inside, then you'll know what it does.

Perhaps it came with another .pk3 file. Some maps come with vehicles that are in separate .pk3 files. Have you tried simply tossing it into your Base folder and seeing if something new comes up in the game?

N2.PK3 is the Naboo Starfighter vehicle apparently.

Yep, I can confirm that it is the Naboo Starfighter, it comes with Naboo Hills map.

Alright! Thank you! I did try taking it out and putting it back in to see if anything changed, but obviously that wouldn't have helped. I think I put that map away, so I guess I'll put the Starfighter back in with it.

Oh good. I had a hunch it`s a vehicle file. Just keep all .pk3 files that come in the same .zip file together in one place (properly named folder; keep the Readme too) and you won`t have "oooh, I wonder what this file does" problem again :D (excuse my Dee Dee reference).

Re: File With An Unknown Purpose

The problem is that a few mappers aren't very specific when naming some of these PK3s with vehicles in them. I often find myself thinking "What on earth is that?" when looking through my base folder and finding it's some sort of vehicle. Tis a bit frustrating when removing old PK3s, all it takes is a quick rename e.g. NabooHillsStarfighter.pk3 :P
