Default SP Help (Graphics are messing up)

Whenever I try to start a new game on SP, the graphics mss up. First off, the rotating model of my character is invisible except when they face the left. Now that doesn't bother me. WHat does bother me is when I load up the first level, my player gets a giant land mass around him. It happens in the ship, and when the level start, I can't see a thing except for objects very high up. Does anyone know what's causing this? I haven't tried any other levels, 'cause I can't make it through the first.

System specs? DXDiag report? Console dump?

The more info you give us, the more chance you've got of getting a solution.

Try patching you're game.

Everyone says that dont they?
It barley ever makes a difference, though.
