Woo! Jedi Knight 3 arrived yesterday, and after two days of playing far too much I've beasted through the single-player campaign as a light-side Jedi.
Anyways, I've been looking at maps and things to expand the game, and I downloaded a good 50 or so maps that caught my fancy. However, while some of them are a bit on the slow-side (annoying since my computer dwarves JK3's requirements quite happily and then some), one of the maps won't load at all.
The map is
FFVII Midgar v3.0 which caught my eye as it looked amazing. However, when I attempt to load it it is simply crashing me to my desktop.
Now, I enabled the console logfile (open console, "logfile 1") and the only error I'm seeing is something about vehicle names being too long. But delightfully it won't tell me which vehicle name or give me any other info. The crash information I get for the program from my OS is complaining of a memory exception.
I'm on a Mac so it probably affects it in some way as I can't imagine it releasing if it had a silly error in it, not with the big list of beta testers it includes.
So I'm wondering, anyone on the Mac version of JK3 having the same problem, anyone got any ideas on what may be causing it and how to get around it?
Cheers!
[edit]
Correction; it WAS giving a vehicle name length error, however now after increasing the com_hunkmegs settings to a good 1024mb (I have 2gb RAM) it gives a different error of:
Code:
TempEnt count: 90
TempEnt ST: 0
NPC count: 0
Projectile count: 0
*******************
ERROR: G_Spawn: no free entities
