Help with using Mods read  Hi, I have downloaded some mods onto my computer. I downloaded an acr trooper, some clones, and a clone trooper rifle. ... so I like clone troopers, Any way I put them in the base file. Now what? What do I do now? Why are they not working? I downloaded all of these from jediknight2.filefront.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) :) Thank you:) :) |
Re: Help with using Mods read Most mods will work only on multiplayer. |
Re: Help with using Mods read Make sure you put the .pk3 file from the download .zip file in the base folder. If you put the entire .zip in there, it'll do nothing. Also, you ONLY need the .pk3, the .zip, .txt and any other files you downloaded will do nothing for the game. |
Re: Help with using Mods read You Have succseded in Confusing me.  I have no idea what zip. pk3. txt. are. I am really new to this whole mod and skin thing. i don't want to make any i just want to use the ones i download. but where do i put them how do i make them work? I am sorry i just have no idea how to do this at all. i didn't find anything in the tutorial section that could help me. i would appreciate a detailed walkthrough on how to do this starting with the file that i am going to download. Thank you any help would be greatly appreciated. |

If you don't know what a zip and txt file are, I'll gander you're new to more than just "this whole mod and skin thing." |
Re: Help with using Mods read OK... .ZIP file: The file you download from FileFront. You can double-click this to open it like a folder. Inside, you will find other files: .PK3 file: This is the mod itself. Some mods have more than one. .TXT file: Usually the mod readme. Double-click this to open it in Notepad. Read it. Sometimes the .zip file will have other files inside. You don't need to install those. All you need to do is copy the .PK3 file into your base folder. So, if you installed the game to the default path, which I assume you did, that folder is: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\gamedata\base But like Inyri said, read the mod's README.txt file to get installation instructions. |
Re: Help with using Mods read Okay, I must really be doing something really wrong:(:(:( . Because through all of your guy's and girl's suggestions and detailed walkthroughs I still am not getting the mod's and skins to work. I have some Clone Commandos, Clone Rifle, A large group of Clone skins, some Clones from Episode 3, and some non player characters. this is all that I have downloaded. I have looked through all of these files and have not found a PK3 file. I would understand and be able to do this if I had the PK3 file:bawl:. but I don't so any on who is willing to help me please do. I am really sorry if I am bugging anyone or if you think i am stupid, but this is the first time I have ever tried this and have no clue what to do. so please help me!!! :) :) Thank you for all your help.:) :) |
Re: Help with using Mods read Like I said above, you download a zip file from JK3-Files, and inside that zip file you find the pk3 file. If you're downloading the zip files without pk3 files inside, then maybe something went wrong with your download. Try redownloading the skins and models. |

Re: Help with using Mods read Inside the files there is some graphic files sounds and a file called mods but in that is players file then in that is the graphics. I do not know if this is helpful or not but all the files I have used are a group download, none of these are a single person. Could that be why it is not working? Is there any special files that I should download for these to work? Once again I apreciate everyone's help. :) :) Thankyou:) :) |
Re: Help with using Mods read OK, what are the name of the files you put in the base folder? |
Re: Help with using Mods read I put every thing I could find that was just a picture of a my documents screen. not a picture or a text file. there is really not pk3 files in my whole thing what did i do wrong? is there supposed to be a special file that you are supposed to download to get the downloads to work? Thank you for your help |
Re: Help with using Mods read Quote:
- Go into wherever you chose to save the files. - Find the files you downloaded, and look inside them. There should be a "readme" and the .pk3 files you need for each mod. - Move only the .pk3 files into C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\gamedata\base. The readme files should tell you how to work the mods once you install them. |
Re: Help with using Mods read Well, before i redownload them I may mention something i just bareley did i went into my documents where the compresed files are and presed ctrl f and typed in .pk3 and all my downloads came up but none of them had a pk3 file in them. is there perhaps a problem with using dial up and a 56k modem? |
Re: Help with using Mods read Quote:
The only problem with using a 56k modem is that it takes longer. |
Re: Help with using Mods read Well when I did the control F the compressed folders cameand then i entered a folder called clones and did the search in this folders for .pk3 and nothing came up. I did this for all of my downloads and nothing came up. the folder searched were all compressed. These are the folders I have clones, clone commando, Clone Rifle+Cool Sounds, Commander Cody, cloneofficer, clonepulse, clonerepeater, clonerocket, clones, clonesniper, clonetrooper, and clones2. |
