Getting A Reskin In-To Game Problems

I dunno if I put this in the right thread section, but here I go:

I've created a reskin, edited all the images with my Image Editor made sure that the .skin file was directing to those files, zipped 'em up in a .pk3 file, but yet It won't go in-game. Is there something else I should be looking for? Please respond.

I'm not sure... I'm having the same problem. I've got the files pointed in the right directions, but it doesn't seem to show.

Make sure you added the proper icons "icon_default.jpg" also, it will work on multiplayer only.

For some reason it still doesn't work

I just have another question:

Is there a path for the icon in the .skin file? Maybe that's my problem.

No. You just need to have "icon_default.jpg" in the skin's folder. Make sure it's a square, though (128x128, 256x256, etc). That sounds like it's your problem, however if it's not one of us can take a look at your PK3 to see what's up.

Check your pk3 file to see if you've got all of the directoriers correct

Now, another question. Which FREE programs would you suggest I should use to package the files into a .pk3? Mainly Macintosh programs, but if I have to throw them together on my PC first, then so be it.

You have a Mac? I can't say from experience, but I think PakRat is supposed to be the Mac equivalent of PakScape. As I said, I can't vouch for it because I don't have a Mac so I've never used it.

As always, thanks again Inyri. I'll try that out and see what I get.
