I got an ip problem when i want to make a server with Jedi Academy. I'm in a computer conected to a local network and my public ip is 200.62.66.253
I want to do a server on the internet in this game, but it says that my IP is 192.168.1.100 wich is my local IP, and so no one from the internet can go in the server, just because it's not my public IP that's on the game.
How can I make my public IP the default IP for the game?
Well, yeah I've tried................I have a friend, he's my neighbour, and he has also JK3, so i I asked him if he could get in my server so i gave him my internal and external ip and none of them worked, is it because jk3 shows only the internal ip? what i need is the jk3 show the external ip, that might be the only way the server could go public, so that's why i'm asking how to change the internal ip to the external.
Please help.
Well do you know the ip you need? If you dont i think the site was www.whatismyip.com. That will tell you your IP that you would use for JK3. Then just tell your friends that IP and you should be fine (I think).
I know what ip I need, the only thing is that JK3 put's the internal ip as the default one 192.168.1.100, and the one I need is the external one 200.62.66.253. Like I told u, i've got a friend and I gave him both my ip's, and none work, so what i think, is that i need my external ip to be the default one, not the internal, so it can work. Thanks
I am pretty sure it will always use the default gateway when you want to run a server, it wont use your ip address. Maybe it doesnt work because your internet connection is too slow, if your internet connection is too slow the request that you sent to the master server will time out, causing the server not to work at all, also, make sure you have your firewall disabled, and make sure to turn off any kind of internet security application.
Well Trauma Sensei.............. Just to tell you, I have and 512kbps ADSL conection, so i don't think it could be that what ur saying, that the server may time out, cause with my own eyes I saw the server was out there and it worked, but only on local, not internet. And for real, u need the ip address of the server to get in the game, so ip addresses means a lot here, just the problem, I can't get my external ip address to work on the game, only when I join a server. My first thought was that the firewal was blocking the external ip address to work, so I disable it, but the problem kept on goin, so I came to the conclution that the firewall have nothing to do with this.
MasterHill............. I'm using a dedicated server to initiate the game, so i can play it on internet. The problem kept on going, only I can see the server I made on a dedicated server.
