(yeah, finally)
hi everyone again,

alrite, i announced it really often, but now it's official: a new seifer is being made ;)
i made up a version he could look like if they would do a "Final Fantasy VIII" -2, using grave's excellent dante-model, because there ain't no fitting model and i think it looks kinda cool.

(all the textures are in high-resoluting 34-bit .tga images, so it may cause some less frames on slower machines)

anyways, here are a few preview shots. please don't mind the white stuff, these are alpha shader-areas and will be removed ingame or replaced by a metal-reflexion.

i know he has a little few hair, but that's the best ic an do with that model

there they are. now the most important and difficult thing:
i need sounds of him. as he never talks in ff8, i need someone of YOU to do it; meaning just record a few cool passages of his text in ff8 which can be used as a taunt

Apart from the face, very good, glad to see more Final Fantasy stuff.

How about using the bad guy from the Final Fantasy film for the speech? The film was based on FF7 and FF8 so it would fit well; both military types too.

Looks nice, except for the mouth area. That could be accentuated a bit more.

Oh I just noticed skin tone on body to neck is different. His neck is slightly more red than the body.

May I recommend you make the hair layered, ya know so the hair appears to be cut in? I know I sound like a hairstylist now lol. By layered I mean so the hair on the back of the head is cut to different lengths so it slowly ends.

i think it looks kinda good now. even the face, as i worked aeons on that crap and i think it lokks kinda detailed now.
any1s not thinking so may take a look at the map when it's done :)

Lookin good... but the face isto similar the one fom the Dante skin. The mouth still looks like a....well..
Btw I think the inside trenchcoat will be seethrough, and I dunno if yo can fix this without modelling

You can use a shader...you should use a shader...to set 'cull none' for the coat, that'll stop the inside being invisible.

The neck looks great now, hair still needs layering in tho and the mouth is still Neo Matrix mute :p

well the head texture is all done by me, i just used graves pants, as i was too lazy, and they're not need to be redone (sorry for that laziness, but i think the head is more important now.)

anyways, you gave me an idea ;)

can't do anythin' about the head's geometry, i'm sorry, but i try my best to hide it a bit with textures. unfortunately, the hair on the top of the head and on the sides is UV-Mapped as the same...

I'd say scale the hair down a bit, the individual hairs are just too .... well defined right now, looks more like a microscope view of wool. I love the idea though so all it does need is the scaling down some then hurry up and release it!

P.S. If you want the Seifer's sword modelling, give me a yell, I'll need reference shots tho. Done Squall's already...not released due to the fact there is no clear saber in JAMP.

Looks pretty good I guess but the mouth looks as if it's literally one thing from the inside, the hair is a bit boxy but otherwise I suppose the skin looks all right. Keep working of course, progress makes improvement.

you're saying that if it would be easy, but i can't do anything about the hair as well as the mouth as i can't import models; and it's all about their geometry

btw i haven't uploaded the latest pics yet, i worked kinda bit on it

I'm not really trying to imply that it is easy, I probably wouldn't get any farther then you are right now and would be a bit of an amazement if I could. Best thing I could ever skin is to make a storm trooper black and that is hardly a change. Still though your work on the skin is good.

I have Max, was going to make him one, luckily all I got done yesterday was the blade otherwise I'd be £$##*% right about now! That blade looks kinda like you used the home made gunblade picture posted early...really should have its own texture, gunblades are far smoother than that home-made one.

P.s.: you don't need 3dsmax to make hilts, you can just save them as md3 and then export them with md3 viewer to glm as they don't have a skeleton.

it's just the model, tag_flash and parent_flash as triangles, then save it as md3 then open it up with md3 viewer and export it as glm

OMG I'm posting in a 5 day old thread this is gonna get closed!!!!....Wait this isn't Raven forums, :p

Anyhow it's totally on topic.

Below is my current WIP, Seifer's gunblade as promised to Raitenks. The only thing in this pic to really take note of is the blade, the handle is the same as the one of my gunblade for Squall; Seifer's blade handle looks very much more like a standard fire-arm so I'll get that done later today or tomorrow.

Seifer's blade most of the time appears dark but has a very high specularity level so the reason the blade looks like this is because of a specular map (which of course works in JA), without light it appear much darker.

looks great, as i said. some corrections bout the blade and it'll be done, folks.

the voice actor has also been chosen and did his job kinda well

so, my work is *kinda* done, so here you go, final shots. (everything done except shaders)

Cifer: official-screen

i added final details like the shoulder armor, detailed cross on the arms, better scar+face; corrected some texture-not-maching-tone-bugs, added more realisitc light reflexions to the neckless, more detailed button on the bottom of the coat and metal caps on the shoes.....well, the little things, you see.

now, when wade finished the hyperion (hilt) it will be released, together with new voice, of course

alrite, maybe the word *final* was a bit tooo brash.
let's just say, the certainly will be a smaller or bigger graphical update to the skin, as i have more time now. that's just because wade's busy with other projects, so it will be released maybe after christmas.
