I just decided to do this today. It occurred to me that none of the face textures in JK3 have specular maps, which makes them look a little flat, so I thought maybe I'd try and add some. Not sure if I'll actually ever finish this, but I think the results are pretty nice.
The original texture, with no specular map:

The added specular map:

Looking at it now, I could probably tone it down a bit more (it's basically at 35% right now), make it a little more subtle. What do you all think?
Heh, I've added specular maps and such to a few things here and there, really spices things up.
If Raven had more time, they could have squeezed so much out of this old engine.
*Just think of the other features, which they have started, but never finished, like the half-cut staff saber, etc*
I KNEW they half assed that! I just thought it was a random comment made by the developers in the .sab files.
AND yet after almost 10 years... They have yet to release the WHOLE source... I don't see why they would even care if we made addons to change things for the Hard Coded bits anymore... Didn't Ravensoft go bankrupt anyway?

Obi Wan did you even SEE those guys hit anything they aimed at?!

Blame Activision - They're half the reason why the game was so rushed. Also see: rideable rancors, broken ship vehicle, 95% usable random map generation system (missing a link somewhere but not sure where), list goes on.
