Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game I've been modeling a bit lately, and I made this gun: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29055962/cats3.jpg I don't know very much about this kind of stuff, so I'm wondering, how do I get it in-game? Are there any tutorials or anything? Help would be greatly appreciated. Help a noob in need. :D |
Re: Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game What modeling program are you using? |
Re: Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game 3ds max 2011 |
Re: Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game I know with player models, if you're using Max like you, only 4-8 can be compatible with JKA. I'm not sure if it's the same with weapons, but I'd assume so. For getting weapons ingame, I'd suggest using something like Gmax. If I'm all wrong, anyone can correct me on this. |
Re: Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game There are tutorials in the tutorial thread. Read it. You simply need to make sure you have an MD3 exporter. Which is also in the stickied threads. Check to see if it will work with your version of max before you switch software. |
Re: Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game On the subject of the MD3 exporter, I've posted in the thread 'Modeling - smoothing tips' about trying to export an MD3 from 3ds max 2011. The exporter in the tools and tutorials sticky does not work for 2011. I'm still trying to find something that will work, but for now you could download gmax and export it from there. |
Re: Need Help Getting A Gun Model In-game for 2011 you can use crosswalk to go through XSI GMax sucks for JKA weapon models because the first person models will constantly disappear from view because gmax doesn't export any bounding box data. Though you can import/export it through milkshape to fix that |
