Default Transparency issue on .ase

Ok so I have a orange texture made transparent through gl_one gl_one.

Works fine ingame, looks good and all, is see through, etc.

To make a certain patch dome have less tri's though I converted it to .ase so I could control the patch subdivision.

In both radiant and ingame, the texture applied to it goes solid. Anyone know of this? How to fix?

Thanks!

p.s. If not, any way to control the patch subdivisions of actual patch meshes?
