Animation! Hello, everyone, I'm a member of the RP Community JKRP, we've got our own Roleplaying mod. But, we're at the eve of the V2 Release of the said mod, and we've got some animations missing, we'd like to request if anyone could do this animation: Spoiler: And while this picture is kind of wierd, it shows you waht we want! We've already got an animation, where your character has his arms crossed, but he is leaning back! And it looks stupid when someone leans on air, we're Jedi or Smugglers, Commando Troopers, Bartenders or Sith or whatever but not Mimes. Please we request your kind help! |
Re: Animation! Could you repost the image or give a different link? It is not showing up for me. I'm an animator and if it is easy enough I could do it for you. *edit Nevermind it worked for me. So you want: 1. Spread feet/legs that are flat on the ground. 2. Arms crossed over the chest. It may look better if I put the thumbs down instead of up like in the picture. 3. Head/neck lowered in a glowering or brooding manner. Anything else I may be missing? I'll start on it once you get back to me on this. How do you want me to pack it up for you? The Dragon files, a pre-merged .gla, or go ahead and put it into a working animation mod? Which animation do you want me to replace with it? Would you like me to add a slow breathing effect as well? That could look neat. |
Re: Animation! Yes, though, the image I showed is a bad example, its just a simple crossed-arms emote, thumbs should be down, yes, and the head standing normally. I couldn't find a better picture. I will reply you about the packing in some minutes, also, slow breathing effects would, indeed look nice! Thank you for your attention! |

Re: Animation! I'll work on it tonight. .glm is a model. I can compile it as a stand alone .gla file that you or someone you know will have to merge with your mod's animations, or I can compile it as a .gla file that is already combined with the default JA animations. What animation do you want me to overwrite if I combine it with the JA animations? |
Re: Animation! I assume Judge knows how to add more animations. Considering it's a server-side + client-side mod, I assume that's what they plan on doing |

When I finish I'll make three different things for you: 1. the Dragon files for you or whoever to edit if they wish, 2. the .gla ready for merging with an _humanoid.gla, and 3. an already merged .gla. That way everything is covered. |

Re: Animation! I meant through coding :D It's really as simple as having another entry in a list, and making sure _humanoid.gla file matches up with animation.cfg (Which katanamaru can do) |

Re: Animation! Yeah I'll merge the new animation with the JKE file. As for the backhand style; I've gone back and tweaked a few of the moves to make them more effective and have a better presentation. I want to make a couple of tweaks to the movements and a new 2hand lightning still. I haven't added it with JKE since I'm not sure what would need to be overwritten. Once I finish everything I may contact Raz0r and see if he can help me add it in. This won't be anytime real soon though. I'm currently thinking about doing one more style and doing the dual backhand style since people will everntually be asking for it. |

Was wondering as well if you could add the backhand stance for niman, as its been requested so many times.. Also a backhand dual stance would be awesome, dual sabers are my favorite stance :). Currently the JKE dual stance doesn't work with the walk animations, so a new walk/stance would be great for it. |

Here is the arms crossed animation merged with the JKE animations you requested. http://www.filefront.com/16944025/jke_humanoid.zip I didn't replace Stand8 like I did in the last version since I figured you or your team would know how to reference it. The animation is BOTH_ARMS_CROSSED. That JKE file had my animations with it. You have permission to use them since that is the purpose of OJP/JKE. That seems like so long ago since I made those. |

Re: Animation! If it's an animation replacement mod, then you just need to overwrite JA+ animations. If it's adding more animations, you'll need some coding to put it in (Out of the question if you plan on using JA+) |

Re: Animation! I don't know anything about animations in JA+. I thought there was a way to drop some animations into a folder that JA+ would recognize. If not the only thing I can think of is to merge the "arms crossed" animation with the JA+ _humanoid.gla and then replace an animation in the animation.cfg or code it in as something new. I don't have the JA+ _humanoid.gla or animation.cfg file so I can't do that for you. Why did Judge want me to merge it with the JKE animations if this is going to be for JA+? I can merge those with JA+ if you can send me those two files or post them in a message. |
Re: Animation! I've heard having multiple animation mods makes things iffy. Which is why I WTF when JA+ and MB2 start throwing animations in the base folder. Personally, I have a set of animations for each mod in their respective folders, and everything goes fine (AM, JKG, STC, JA+, OJP all have unique animations..) as it should. |

Re: Animation! There are different versions of JA+ I believe and I don't want to grab the wrong version with different animations and have to keep merging and guessing which version they want. I'd also not download the whole mod since I have no intention of playing it, but I will if they will tell me which version to get. |
